RIES, Emergence of Form, Fuso Series

 

Slow down. Look closer. 

A study on form, motion, and perception.

 Exploring new ways to communicate and tell visual stories lies at the heart of our studio’s practice.

 In this case, we focused on morphology, material, and movement — using a high-speed camera to slow everything down and let the object speak for itself. The subject: a glass designed by New Tendency, with whom we had previously collaborated. For some reason, this object kept calling us back.


There’s something meditative in observing its form unfold over time — the curves, the texture, the weight of the liquid.


The soundscape, created in collaboration with Qoa, adds another layer of sensory depth to the experience.

Having our own studio gives us the space to create these kinds of studies — to experiment, to reflect, and to push the boundaries of our visual language.

We were recently commissioned by MUJI to create their 2024 EU campaign, a capsule collection of thoughtful, high-quality items that fit seamlessly into everyday life. The project involved showcasing 25 products, divided in different categories such as Relax & Sleep, Work & Study, Travel & Explore, among others. The campaign also featured an interior set, which had the feel of a New York loft, and included a Bedroom, Living Room, Atelier, and Dining, all photographed and filmed to highlight the cozy, minimalist atmosphere of living with MUJI. All the content we created is now on display in their stores and websites across seventeen European countries.
