HOLDER
PUZZLE CHAIR
HOLDER blends the lines between an editorial platform, a design store and a gallery with an ever-evolving catalog showcasing a selection of curated furniture and art-led objects for everyday use, by Latin American designers.
Through an ongoing collaboration, we've teamed up to capture a series of portraits featuring HOLDER’s pieces, using both photography and film. Here, we kick things off with the Silla Plaza by Juan Ignacio Baixa.
After studying under Jean Prouvé in France, Chilean architect Juan Ignacio Baixas designed the Puzzle Chair in 1975. It’s a functional yet sculptural chair made from 12 wooden pieces and tensioned fabric for ergonomic comfort—without any adhesives or metal. Today, it’s part of the MOMA collection and now sold in the EU by Holder.
